AJAX, SOA to Merge
By Darryl K. Taft

Ajax developers seen playing with security fire
By Tom Sanders
October 5, 2006

"We're seeing a rise in web application attacks because people are realising that it is easier to go through the web application," Billy Hoffman, a lead security researcher with Spi Dynamics said.

"There is all sorts of money to be made in web [in]security. A lot of times, its easier to attack an application through the web layer than traditionally, by trying to break through the firewall of spoof around the intrusion detection system. Criminals take the path of least resistance," Hoffman said at the AjaxWorld conference in Santa Clara, California ... Read More

Nexaweb and JackBe Take Web 2 to the Enterprise
By John K. Waters
October 9, 2006

Last week's AJAXWorld Conference & Expo ... had the feel of an early JavaOne - which is to say, the place was positively quivering with possibility. There were some great sessions and demos (IBM's QEDwiki drag-and-drop mashup tool was my personal fav), and Jesse James Garrett (He Who Did Coineth Ajax) was there to bless the event ... Read More

This past week I spoke at the AJAXWorld Conference here in Santa Clara. Enjoyed giving my talk and had some great conversations afterward. Is the Silverlight Adoption Rate Artificially Inflated?
Silverlight 2.0 is a freaking phenomenal RIA development environment and I would actually, at this point, put the development experience in Silverlight 2.0 above and beyond Flex. I can do more faster and have it look better and run more efficiently in Silverlight 2.0 than I can in Flex

Silverlight 2 - Adobe Flex Killer Is on Its Way!
Silverlight 2.0 kicks ass and I can't wait to start dropping more hardcore blog posts regarding it. Scott Guthrie's tutorials are a fantastic place to start. The issue I have, however, is that all of the tutorials assume you have installed Silverlight 2.0 tools for VS 2008. There is a
Early Notes on GoogleApps
Now, what Google announced is really exciting! I'm not kidding. It's even better than I hoped. Yes, it's only Python, but IBM's PC-DOS was only BASIC and Pascal when it first came out, and it didn't matter. Yeah, I preferred C, but I coded in Pascal because that's what you had to do to
Adobe Wants to Be on the iPhone and Will "Reorganize" Its Mobile and Device Business Unit
Rumor has it that in the next few weeks Adobe is going to 'reorganize' its Mobile and Device business unit where its Jobs-criticized Flash Lite lives and send the engineers to go work with the larger platform effort and Flash proper, which Jobs has also criticized. Presumably, Adobe is
AJAXWorld and Bear Stearns
This was the first time I've included into the list of the RIA players a little known product called Curl. Even though this language was created in MIT, it's mainly used in Japan. I had a chance to spend an hour with Curl folks today, and it seems that this language may be a good fit
